Advantech’s Networks and Communications Group today announced the expansion of its Processor AMC product line with the addition of the latest 45nm Intel® Core™2 Duo processor SL9380 (1.8 GHz) coupled with the Intel® 3100 chipset, an integrated memory and I/O controller.
The full-size MIC-5602Rev2 PrAMC supports the latest 45nm embedded SKU with just 17W thermal design power (TDP), and doubles onboard memory options to 4 GB with ECC. When coupled with an ATCA form factor carrier or integrated within a MicroTCA chassis, the new modules are ideally suited for applications requiring scalable, multi-processor clustering or intelligent co-processor engines for protocol offload, host media processing, encryption/decryption, content and packet processing.
With this latest processor addition, customers can now optimize their software investment by redeploying across a wider range of processors on a common core PrAMC design, ensuring full I/O compatibility across the whole family. Advantech’s Processor AMC series now ranges from an entry-level cost-effective Intel® Celeron® M design to Low Voltage Intel® Pentium® M, and on to 65nm and 45nm Intel® Core™2 Duo processors.
The Intel® Core™2 Duo SL9380 processor SKU is backed by Intel’s 7+ Year Manufacturing Availability Program, a key benefit for long-term deployment of the MIC-5602 within industrial and telecommunications infrastructures.
The key features of the board are:
- One GbE port (RJ-45), one USB 2.0 port, and one console port (mini-USB) to the front panel
- AMC connector routes two GbE SerDes transceivers and two SATA ports
- USB (x2), dual PCIe x4, or single PCIe x8
- Boot from network, CompactFlash, SATA, USB or onboard flash disk
- Supports IPMI v1.5 and Serial-over-LAN function
- AMC.0, AMC.1, AMC.2 and AMC.3 compliant
